Cult cultures and its associations with the gore has always groked the attention of its avid followers. We question the oblivious and the meanings of such existences. We tend to get lost in the absinthe of indulgence by these individuals belonging to these cult groups, intrigued by their dedication for something sinful yet worth attainment of salvation, in their own way. Let’s just say Damien Thorn and his crimes have always kept us questioning - what is the real purpose of such existences. “The Deliverer” delivers a story which is not to be judged by the impetus nature of its pacing. It arranges the games that the human mind plays in a vivid trance-like motion. One moment you attain a stage where you’d probably pack your bags with relief and go home and in the next, you will be running for your life but in vain. And let’s say, Gil Saint is the master of his craft. Set up in an eerie incoherent pizzeria, the story takes us through sharp bends and turns with the story of Garth. He’s desperately looking for a job and appears at the pizzeria shuddered to find his prospective competitions at his first job interview to be intimidating to his very core until he surprisingly gets this abysmal job. His mind does not once question the prospects of this job and he seems to be only after the money. His boss decides to hire him with not many trivial questions and he starts working on the same day. The only conditions for his are that he has to extremely submissive to whatever their customers wish for. He puts on a smile and wears all this courage to begin this journey to be a very good delivery boy. He calls his mother and embarks on the way to what you could call it to be an “eventful” day. What happens next is for us to find out. The script will make you want to really see this make into a film with what magic Gil Saint creates. What astounded me is that I have not come across a story like this in a long, long time. Spine-chilling, testing your patience at every point, reverting your brain to your cognitive instincts through every line that you will read. The depth at which the story spins is wonderfully executed and Gil marvels at it. A classic horror story with all the elements of suspense. You will see the works set up in a backdrop very vivid and detailed. There is no aspect left untouched concerning a horror genre film. It will compel you to be careful next time you come across such a set-up in real life. You will question – “what if?” What if it was you. Gil Saint has to be one of the best writers in this generation almost neck to neck with Stephen King, Bram Stoker, sprinkled with elements of Edgar Allan Poe and Stephenie Meyer. It is highly likely to become a film in the near future – no doubt about that.
