MAA AUR HUM”, a short film directed by Raja Ram Mukherji follows a beautiful story of a family and the daily family issues we all face. How much can an entry of a new member of a family affect the lifestyle of the family members? How much would you trust a newcomer in to your family?

Yes, this film takes into consideration this point of view. The film begins with a mother who has been growing his lovely son with the utmost care and love. But one day, after his work life is balanced, he goes ahead and chooses to marry a girl of his liking. His mother did not get affected by this, and was happy with his son’s choice, that if he is happy, so will she be.

The girl entering the household starts changing the daily chores and habits of the family, these changes appear to be affecting the mother little by little, as she seems to taking away all his son’s favorite food habits and adding diets and meals she is not accustomed to. Dealing with these she starts not liking her son’s wife so much, as the couple even start taking decisions without involving their mother, like buying a new house or so.

The mother starts calling on her friend to tell them that maybe her son’s wife has done black magic on him, and she is controlling the house decisions and his son appears to follow him willingly. But in the climax, the film takes an amazing turn where the new house appears to be a lot similar to the old one with all the memories and concepts stored within. They give her mother her own room, and also gift this house to her changing all her bad and doubtful intentions.

She realizes how wrong she was about them, and she definitely was never a burden to them. Her son still loves him like he did since childhood, a small tint bit of jealousy developing after someone new coming to their lives, was dropped in just a genuine gesture of love. A beautiful movie to be witnessed by every person for a marvellous and amazing smile with a string to multiple emotions as you will definitely begin to relate to it.
