THE INTELLIGENCE! -The Counterattack Of Robots

Directed by Suisei Hoshi  |  Review by Riya Saha

A story which uses robots to depict the crisis facing Earth in the near future - Suisei Hoshi. What’s up with all you movie buffs out there? Geared for your next dose of entertainment booster? Huh! Doesn’t sound exciting enough to tingle your leisure buds? Well, Here’s a movie which is quite the thing to exhilarate all your kinds. A perfect watch with your sip of coffee to freshen up your mind and guess what it gives you along, a social message, a reality check and an insightful topic to ponder upon. Yes, that’s “The Intelligence: Counterattack of the robots” for you!

Directed by Suisei Hoshi who is not just an artist and a movie director, but he is the editor-in-chief and president of publishing company Uchu Club and president of Atlantis Association. A movie that comes from an experienced person like him has to have something eccentric and bizarre as its theme. THE INTELLIGENCE! -The counterattack of robots is undoubtedly amongst the best of independent animated movies and is somehow comparable with the likes of Toy Story & Wall-E. And no it’s not on the same cliched “man vs machine” storyline. Rather an absolute masterpiece.

This unique short film is set in the future wherein humankind has advanced (or has it really? You’ll get to know) to such an extent that they’ve discovered another star to live in; but why? Keep wondering till you watch it out. All the manual hectic tasks have been assigned to robots on which the humans show no mercy. Yes! you heard it right, humans have been depicted as atrocious beings who don’t think twice before dismantling and throwing off the poor robots as soon as their purpose is served. Until one man stands out for the robots and against the humans. What are his plans? Each sequence has been beautifully presented and how he executes them is worth viewing. Yeah, you’ll be thinking as to how it’s different from the other “man vs machine” topics that we discussed above! But believe it or not, it does have various elements of surprise that makes it unique. At some point, you would start to believe that the antagonist is, in fact, the protagonist. However, just when you think the movie is about to be predictable, it astonishes you with several twists and turns.
