Netflix wanted to bring Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard movie to their online streaming platform to please fans. The animation is stunning and accurately depicts the manga and television series' plots. It makes sense for Netflix to take on an anime that has fans and made an impact in order to attract more viewers.
Black Clover Sword of the Wizard King is set in the world where, magic is everything. Asta is a boy born without magic. If he does not possess any magic, his goal is to become the "Wizard King," which would be quite an accomplishment. He wants to triumph over difficulties, demonstrate his strength, and uphold his oath to his friends.
Asta leaves the Clover Kingdom and plans to fight Yuno, his long-time foe, just like any other hero's journey. He encounters obstacles on this journey that almost resemble demons from his previous life. Conrad Leto, a former Wizard King, represents Asta's ghosts in this tale very reminiscent of Charles Dickens. Asta becomes more familiar with the responsibilities of the position as he learns more about the Wizard Kings and their past actions. Between what he wants for his kingdom and what has been done in the past, he is in conflict. He is baffled as to why previous kings exercised such rule and ended up destroying the kingdom. Audiences can relate to Asta's struggles and what he wants to do for his kingdom, making him a strong lead film character.
Conrad Leto has grown to be quite powerful now that Asta is dealing with everything. He is a wizard with more intelligence than Asta. He plays Asta well in this film and is a compelling villain. Occasionally, the film has a generic feel, but the animation stands out above the rest. If you enjoy both the manga and the television series, this is a good option. It does justice while constructing a tale of good versus evil with morally ambiguous ideologies that abound.
