Wild Girlfriend
Wild Girlfriend
Directed by Juliet Valentine & Written by Caroline Koziol | Review by Ananya Jana
In this short film (Wild Girlfriend), Director Juliet Valentine portrays the character of the young lady Caroline Koziol as a strong and beautiful woman who can be really hard to love. Her beaming smile was the first thing that caught her boyfriend’s (Alex Maudhuit) eye. Or maybe it was the way she was covered in dirt and singing happily all on her own. She is the type of woman who loves to spend time with others, always wearing a luscious smile and initiating eye contact.
During the entire plot, we can see her as a sweet and suave lady busy to share love and affection with her boyfriend. It was pretty easy to spot that his gaze and heart were captured completely by this wild-hearted woman. In return, he had a crazy once-in-a-lifetime type of love. But he could not stop himself from loving this unusual woman. The boyfriend tried to love the wild-hearted woman but he was intimidated by her at the same time — by her strength, her intelligence, her fire. That’s why he loved the wild part of her. Yet he followed his heart and set out to win the heart of this temperamental girl. The boy understood his girlfriend very well. He never tried to clip her wings, but instead, he offered her his calm and soothing presence. He also knew that her roots are never firmly planted and that her feet are always ready for a new path. Her heart craves the adrenaline and new adventures. She always wanted to fly; her boyfriend recognizes this as her main need and hunger. He seeks to love her and never change her, only adding to her spark, to her flame. He knew that he can stand beside her, never looking to lead or follow—he is simply her partner, her lover.
One can always embrace the wild, treasuring the rarity of a love like this. One can dare to love a wild-hearted woman; in return, he has a wild, once in a lifetime type of love. Loving a wild-hearted woman means checking one's ego at the door: know that one’s never own her heart. One can see her heart is wild as she wanders on her own path letting the wind guide her way. She believes in karma, crystals and good wine. For her, the man's reaction doesn't matter. Will he accept her or not is none of her concern. But if he does accept the challenge, the rewards can be endless. But just keep in mind, it takes two to dance.
