“Bicycle” a movie directed by Tianpeng Yeo is a three minute movie that delivers an extremely important message through life. The movie starts with an old man standing on the corner of the street, trying to smoke a cigarette, while a woman seems to shout from the window behind him to “Stop”, who appears to be his wife. To her voice he stops smoking.

At the same moment, a kid comes trying to cycle his way on a bicycle but appears to have not learnt it at all. Our old man notices his problem during cycling and helps to teach him how to bicycle fluently. He takes off saying he is a gifted cyclist and comes back having cycled without fear. At this time he also adds a life quote that is appealable to each and every viewer. “Life is like riding a bicycle, you have to keep moving forward to stay balanced.” As we go ahead, he helps the kid cycle through the alley shown in the film, supporting him from the back. Just after this, the kid vanishes out of thin air and our old man is reminded again from the woman in the house to take his medicine. As the transition changes, we see a guy in a car standing beside the old man, waiting for him to get in. The old man enters saying that “this one’s bigger” maybe hinting us that it’s the same kid who has grown up. Our new character addresses him as grandpa and making the concept a little clearer, in the next second when the old man tells that they should tell grandma, depicting the woman in the house. Here, we get to know from the grandson that, his grandmother had died last year. This clears the state that the old man is suffering from Alzheimer’s and still can hear her wife’s voice. The main motive of this film is to bring in the need for young people to care for elder people. The subtle emotions it creates in the mind of the viewers is commendable.

A short little story showing us how important life is, and we should be their or our loved ones. The visuals in this film are extremely clear and avid to the viewers. It’s a beautiful story with a wonderful message displayed to the audience.
