With James Wan's modern horror classic Insidious, a relatively inexpensive production that grossed a lot of money at the box office, the Blumhouse horror franchise got its start in 2010. In 2013, the 2^nd Chapter of Insidious was even more successful.  A subsequent prequel and a fourth installment in the franchise demonstrated that horror fans can't get enough. There are multiple timelines in the Insidious series. The initial two motion pictures center around the Lambert family, who enroll evil presence master Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) to research paranormal action inside their home.

Formerly referred to as Insidious: The Red Door movie trailer was released on April 19, 2023, approximately three months before the film's theatrical release. When actor Patrick Wilson announced in August 2022 that filming had finished, audiences waited anxiously for the trailer for several months. The first look at actor Ty Simpkins, now an adult, as well as some frightful ghosts, both old and new, are shown off in the trailer. Uncovering key story subtleties, the Insidious 5 trailer likewise shows watchers Rose Byrne's Renai, Patrick Wilson's Josh, and Lin Shaye's Elise.

According to the updates for Insidious 5, the franchise's final chapter will take place ten years in the future Insidious: The Red Door will follow the haunted Dalton Lambert as he heads off to college. Dalton, on the other hand, is being haunted by the ghosts of his past, which he barely remembers but is being brought back to life through his art. Dalton and his father Josh will find themselves traveling further and deeper into The Further than ever before as supernatural forces once again pose a threat to the Lambert family. In the process, they will resurrect terrifying ghosts, both old and new, and uncover deeply buried family secrets.
