Simply Lies” a book written by David Baldacci, the #1 New York Times smash hit creator of the 6:20 Man comes a turning new spine chiller in which two ladies one a previous analyst, the other a hazardous cheat clash in a jolting mental contest.

Mickey Gibson, single parent and previous criminal investigator, carries on with a rushed existence like that of numerous mothers working remotely for ProEye, a global investigation firm that seeks out wealthy tax and credit cheats, while also juggling the demands of her two young children. Mickey is unconcerned when she receives a call from a coworker whose name is Arlene Robinson. Arlene has asked Mickey to go inventory the vacant home of an arms dealer who cheated ProEye's clients and fled. That is, until she gets to the mansion and finds a body in a secret room and realizes that nothing is as it seems.  Not only does the arms dealer not exist, but Harry Langhorne, a witness protection officer with ties to the mob, turns out to be the murderer. Additionally, no one at ProEye is identified as Arlene Robinson.

Gibson has become a leading suspect in a murder investigation in a flash, and her job is now at risk until she proves that she was conned. Gibson soon finds himself locked in a mental duel with a brilliant woman who has no name, a secret past, and no idea what she wants. The end result is both deadly and mysterious.

David Baldacci does not disappoint with Simply Lies! Although this is said to be a thriller that can be read on its own, we would love to see more stories in which these two characters collaborate. A formidable team would be formed by them! We trust that this book denotes the start of another series.

Things that need to be worked on are as follows, the settings are scarcely portrayed and add very little to the story which is a disgrace since we would have gotten a kick out of the chance to have deeply studied the James Waterway area of Virginia and the technical descriptions are a little vague.
